Coombe Hill Golf Club
Problem: General Security and Burglary.
Solution Replacement and upgrade to a 9 Camera CCTV System with remote web access NSI Approval: NSI Certificate Issued, awaiting NSI audit.
Coombe Hill Golf Club had an existing outdated CCTV system located in the car park for a number of years. The picture quality was very poor and if an event happened the staff found it difficult to review images and identify what exactly had taken place. The club had also experienced a number of break-ins and the Professional shop with its high value stock was a regular target. The spate of burglaries led the Club Secretary, who lives on site, to feel very insecure. When the alarm went off he had to make a judgement whether to call the police or to investigate. The old CCTV system was incapable of providing him with any useable images to assist him in deciding the best course of action.
Camera London CCTV designed and installed a nine camera system with the objective of preventing crime and improving safety. Each camera has a specific purpose: to identify vehicle registration plates, recognise people in the surrounding clubhouse area, or to monitor the areas outside the Pro Shop, Caddy Car store and Car Parks. The installation of nine cameras is connected to a high specification, 16 channel Digital video recorder. The recorder utilises the H264 codec to capture high quality crisp and detailed images (BusinessPro DVR). These images can also be monitored over the internet from any authorised remote computer. The DVR is extremely easy to operate using a mouse or remote control; All images are archived for 28 days before they are automatically recorded over. CCTV Camera London specified a sixteen channnel DVR as it is planned to extend the number of cameras to sixteen in the future. The presence of custom signage, a high specification system and prominent overt camera technology has proved to be a big deterrent. Since the new CCTV system installation only one incident has occurred. A vehicle was damaged by persons at first unknown and following a review of the recordings, the incident was clearly captured on the DVR and was subsequently provided as evidence for the Police.
